About the Raviv Method
The Raviv Method works
on the basis of correcting gaps formed in the
development stages in learning and enabling the
formation of new neural pathways, where vital
connections need to be created between the different
parts of the brain. The method implements Howard
Gardener's "Multiple Intelligence" model and
displays a new understanding of the relationship
between learning disabilities and the brain's
development, structure and function.
The Raviv
Method combines four
critical neuro-cognitive processes:
The
method is usually practised on a one to one format
(as opposed to a group format) and may be used
entirely by itself. As the method works on enhancing
learning abilities, it addresses a wide range of
learning skills for the mind and body. We have
created programmes for four key
usages .
A
typical treatment programme is very focussed,
usually lasting four to six months. The major
breakthroughs achieved offer continuous improvement
to the child or adult even after treatment has
ended. This is because newly created neurological
pathways naturally continue to grow, and their
skills continue to improve and strengthen.
Achieving Results
The
Raviv Method has drawn clients from around the world
and is recognized by the Ministry of Education in
Israel. It was first used in a UK Special Education
Needs service in 2002. Mike Jones, a teacher,
conducted a successful
pilot study
at St. Joseph's RC High School in
Newport, Wales. 80% of the pupils with severe
learning problems experienced a significant
improvement after only three months of
treatment. They continued to show
improvement in the basic skills, when tested one
year later.
